VELI RAT Lighthouse, DUGI OTOK

The imposing Veli Rat lighthouse is located on the north-western tip of Dugi Otok, near the place Veli Rat, 35 km west of the city of Zadar. It was built in 1849 and it is 42 meters high and today it is the highest lighthouse in the Adriatic. In the courtyard of the lighthouse is the chapel of St. Nicholas, a great place for an intimate church wedding in Croatia. The Lighthouse is surrounded by pine trees, beautiful bays and pebble beaches and has one of the most beautiful positions on the Adriatic Coast with a splendid view from the 40 m high lighthouse tower. This is a perfect wedding venue in Zadar for adventurous couples who want something a little different.
