BUNIC - KABOGA VILLA DUBROVNIK

The Bunić-Kaboga Summer Villa is a remarkable example of Dubrovnik's Gothic-Renaissance architecture, dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. Located in Batahovina, on the southern bank of the Ombla River's confluence, this villa stands as a prime example of Dubrovnik's rural construction, particularly the "summer houses built on the water."

The feudal Bunić family, also known as Bona, owned property in Batahovina as early as the 14th century. The current villa was built during the time of Miha Junijev Bunić, with its construction dated between 1520 and 1540, based on architectural style and carved details. After the devastating earthquake of 1667, the Kaboga (or Caboga) noble family acquired the property.

In the late 19th century, the Bunić-Kaboga Summer Villa and the neighboring Stay Summer Villa came under the same ownership, with their gardens connected by walkways on both the ground and first floors. Over the 20th century, the villa passed through several owners and uses.

This waterfront complex features a Gothic-Renaissance villa with a portico, loggia, boathouse, the Chapel of St. Bernard, and cascading gardens. Its scenic beauty and historic charm make it a perfect venue for destination weddings in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
