Dania & Ivan’s Three-Day Wedding at San Canzian in Istria

A Three-Day Wedding Celebration of Love and Culture at San Canzian in Istria
When Dania from Palestine and Ivan from Croatia envisioned their wedding, they dreamed of more than a single day — they wanted an experience that reflected who they are: warm, grounded, and effortlessly elegant. Their three-day celebration at the charming San Canzian Village & Hotel in Istria was a soulful blend of cultures, nature, and timeless beauty.

Welcome Night with Croatian Charm
The festivities began with an intimate welcome event surrounded by lavender fields and rustic stone walls at San Canzian Istria . Guests gathered to enjoy Istrian delicacies and local wines as a traditional Klapa group performed under the summer sky — a heartfelt prelude to the days ahead, full of connection and joy.

Art, Wine, and Connection
The second day embraced creativity and community. While the ladies indulged in a wine and paint experience at the Montona Gallery in Motovun, painting the rolling Istrian hills, the gentlemen shared laughs and friendly competition during a football match — a perfect reflection of balance between play and artistry.

Rustic Elegance at San Canzian
The wedding day at San Canzian in Istria was designed to feel earthy, natural, and refined — effortlessly blending rustic elements with chic sophistication. The aesthetic was understated yet timeless, embracing a palette of warm, tonal hues that echoed the surrounding landscape. The tablescape became the centerpiece of the design — a vision of artisanal beauty with textured linens, seasonal fruits, and sculptural florals in muted tones. Long wooden chairs, natural stone, and candlelight created a warm and intimate atmosphere that evoked community, harmony, and connection to nature. Every detail felt intentional and organic, balancing elegance with authenticity.

A Multicultural Celebration
As the sun dipped behind the hills, the energy of the day shifted with Palestinian drums and dancers leading a spirited entrance. Croatian and Palestinian flags waved side by side, symbolizing unity and shared joy. Dinner unfolded beneath string lights, followed by heartfelt speeches, laughter, and dancing late into the night. Instead of a traditional cake, guests were treated to a tiramisu tower — a playful and delicious nod to Italian influence and a perfect finale to a weekend that felt both deeply personal and joyfully international.
